Check a planned short stay
Tell us whether you have held a Schengen visa before. If yes, enter dates when you actually stayed in the Schengen area—not simply the visa’s validity dates. Entry and exit days both count.
Estimate the common application fee
Calculated at €90 per applicant aged 12 or over and €45 for children aged 6–11. Children under 6 are generally fee-exempt. Reduced rates, waivers and nationality-specific fees may apply. Application-centre, courier, insurance and optional service charges are not included.
Documents commonly requested
- Completed and signed application form and appointment confirmation.
- Passport issued within the previous 10 years, with blank pages and the required post-trip validity.
- Recent compliant photograph and evidence of legal residence in the UK.
- Travel medical insurance covering emergency care, hospitalisation and repatriation throughout the Schengen area.
- Transport and accommodation evidence consistent with the complete itinerary.
- Financial evidence and evidence of employment, study or other circumstances in the UK.
- Purpose-specific evidence, such as an invitation, family-host details or business correspondence.

What the policy normally needs to cover
- All Schengen countries for the full intended stay.
- Emergency medical care and hospital treatment.
- Repatriation, including for medical reasons or death.
- At least €30,000 of cover under the common Schengen requirement.
Check exclusions, excesses, territorial coverage and the insurance certificate before the appointment.
