Core information normally required
- Certificate of Sponsorship reference number supplied by the employer.
- Valid passport or other document showing identity and nationality.
- Job title, annual salary and occupation code.
- Employer name and sponsor licence number.
- Evidence of English knowledge where the route requires it.
Documents that depend on circumstances
These are not required in every application.
- Bank evidence for maintenance unless the sponsor certifies maintenance or another exemption applies.
- Relationship evidence for a partner or children applying as dependants.
- Tuberculosis test certificate for applicants covered by the published country and residence rules.
- Criminal-record certificate for specified jobs when applying from outside the UK.
- ATAS certificate for certain sensitive research roles at PhD level or above.
- UK PhD certificate or Ecctis reference where a qualification is being relied upon.
- Certified translations for documents not in English or Welsh.
