UK Student visa documents checklist
Start with the two documents every applicant normally provides, then check which conditional documents apply.

Core documents
- A current passport or other valid travel document.
- A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from the licensed course provider.
- Identity evidence or biometric steps requested by the online application.
Documents that depend on circumstances
- Financial evidence where the rules require it.
- A valid ATAS certificate if the course and nationality require one.
- A TB test certificate if applying from a listed country and the rules require it.
- Evidence of English only where the CAS and sponsor assessment do not already establish the requirement.
- Certified translations for evidence not in English or Welsh.
Under 18
- Written consent from both parents or legal guardians, or one parent with sole responsibility.
- Consent must cover the visa application, UK living and care arrangements, and travel to the UK.
- A birth certificate or other government document showing the parents' names.
Previous financial sponsorship
- Written consent may be required if a government or international scholarship agency paid course fees and living costs within the previous 12 months.
- Use the official checklist generated by the application because the final list depends on the answers given.
