No Immigration Health Surcharge

  • Standard Visitors do not pay the IHS.
  • Visitors may still need to pay for NHS treatment received in the UK.
  • Travel or private medical insurance is separate from the visa fee.

Possible additional costs

  • Priority service where the official application offers it.
  • Commercial visa-application-centre appointments or optional services.
  • Translations, TB testing for certain long visits, travel and document preparation.
  • Each family member who needs a visa submits and pays separately.

Before paying

  • Apply from outside the UK no earlier than the permitted period before travel.
  • Use only the official GOV.UK application link and its named appointment provider.
  • A longer visa does not guarantee approval or any individual visit.
  • Government fees can change; the application checkout is final.
