What is the usual minimum income requirement?+

GOV.UK currently states that a partner and sponsor usually need combined income of at least £29,000 a year. Different rules can apply where specified benefits are received or where the first partner application was made before 11 April 2024 and the person is extending with the same partner.

Can a visitor switch to a partner visa inside the UK?+

A visitor normally cannot switch to this family route inside the UK. Limited exceptions can exist, so a person with unusual circumstances should check the official rules and obtain authorised advice before acting.

Does a partner visa include the Immigration Health Surcharge?+

The Immigration Health Surcharge normally applies in addition to the application fee. The official application calculates the amount for the permission period.
